Your Statutory Rights Under the Consumer Guarantees Act

If you purchase from us as a consumer for personal or domestic use, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) applies. This gives you legal rights that cannot be excluded. Our voluntary return policy below operates in addition to your CGA rights—it does not replace or limit them.

Products must be of acceptable quality—fit for purpose, safe, durable, and free from defects.
If there is a fault: For a minor fault, we may offer to repair, replace, or refund. For a major or substantial fault (where a reasonable consumer would not have purchased had they known), you may choose a refund or replacement.
Change of mind—The CGA does not require us to refund or exchange if you simply change your mind. The 14-day return window below is our voluntary goodwill policy for unworn items.

Our Voluntary Return Policy

At Sholrynnghel we take pride in the quality of our handmade jewellery. We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. In addition to your CGA rights, we offer this voluntary return policy for change-of-mind returns.

Return Window (Change of Mind)

You may return eligible items within 14 days of receiving your order. Items must be in their original condition, unworn, and in the original packaging to qualify for a return.

Eligible Items for Return

The following items are eligible for return:

Ready-made jewellery from our collections
Items that are unworn and in original condition
Items with all original tags and packaging intact
Items purchased directly from sholrynnghel.world

Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned:

Custom or bespoke jewellery made to your specifications
Personalized or engraved items
Items that have been worn, altered, or damaged
Items returned after the 14-day return window
Items purchased during final sale promotions

How to Initiate a Return

To initiate a return, please follow these steps:

Contact us at connectuse@sholrynnghel.world within 14 days of receiving your order
Include your order number and reason for return
Wait for our team to provide return instructions and authorization
Package the item securely in its original packaging
Ship the item using the provided instructions

Refund Process

Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will process your refund within 5–7 business days. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method. For change-of-mind returns, shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error. For faulty or defective items under the Consumer Guarantees Act, we will refund in full including any reasonable return shipping costs.

Exchanges

If you'd like to exchange an item for a different size or style, get in touch. We'll do our best to accommodate exchanges subject to availability—same 14-day timeframe as returns.

Damaged or Defective Items

If you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact us immediately with photos of the damage. Under the Consumer Guarantees Act, we will arrange for a replacement or full refund at no additional cost to you, including return shipping where the fault is our responsibility. This applies regardless of the 14-day voluntary return window.

Ring Resizing

If your ring doesn't fit, we offer complimentary resizing within 30 days of purchase for standard collections (some designs can't be resized). Get in touch to arrange resizing at our Auckland studio.

Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error or a defective product. We recommend using a tracked courier and insurance for valuable items.
